Having properly placed counterweights, Compstar Comets will internally balance without the use of heavy metal. Each Comet is fully nitrided with a surface hardness of 61HRc or greater. All gray area edges are generously radiused to eliminate potential stress risers found on many light weight cranks. All journals are precision ground with .125 Radii for strength and polished to a 3 Ra or finer. The result of this work are journals that have excellent load bearing surfaces and high fatigue limits.
